Deep Purple
In Concert with The London Symphony Orchestra

This was a once in a lifetime experience. Deep Purple was playing the Royal Albert Hall with the London Symphony Orchestra and asked Steve to perform two of his selections with the SMB in the middle of their performance. I'm not sure which was the most exciting, playing, Night Meets Light with the 80 piece Orchestra, playing Take It Off the Top with the Kick Horns or playing double drums on Smoke on the Water with Ian Paice featuring Ian Gillan and Ronnie James Dio on vocals. The double drum thing was a last minute decision during the show, which was part of why it was so fun. Ian's grove was so heavy that it was effortless to play with him…the way music should be.
